Cosmic is made of a green tie-dye Kente cloth from Kenya which I was kindly gifted by a colleague.
Weave is made of a traditional baulé cloth from Côte d'Ivoire (purchased by me in Burkina Faso). The fabric is made of narrow woven stripes that are then hand stitch together.
Natalie, founder of Kramer & Radish, began her business out of a love of fabrics. The Kramer & Radish ethos is rooted firmly in slow crafting and sustainable fashion. Most of Natalie's materials were purchased during her time working on malaria in Burkina Faso (She is an entomologist by trade) while a lot of the others are salvaged and reclaimed materials.
Born out of the pandemic, Natalie wanted to help the community by ensuring everyone had a reusable mask to protect themselves. Understanding that cost could be a barrier for some, Kramer & Radish began a programme making masks for free for those who couldn’t afford it as well as starting a suspended mask programme where people could pay for the cost of a mask for a stranger.
